French speaking practice with an AI coach (Early Access)
French in WitSpeak is in Early Access: it works today and improves every week. You can talk freely in French with Mia or Alex, rehearse everyday situations such as ordering at a café or booking a hotel room, and take beginner lessons with a pronunciation score. Feedback on each answer is explained in your own language, and levels run from A1 to C1.
- Early Access
- French from France
- Conversation levels A1–C1
What Early Access means
Early Access means French is open to everyone in the app, but it is newer than English and Spanish. The lessons and conversations are still being refined every week. Expect the occasional rough edge, and tell us about it through support: that feedback decides what we fix next.
French follows the language of France. There is no Canadian French option yet.

- Feedback in your language: every correction is explained in your own language.

Roleplays to try first in French
Every adult roleplay can run in French. These everyday ones are a good start:
Speaking French, not just reading it
French is a language where the written word and the spoken word drift apart: final letters go silent, words join together and nasal vowels have no clear equivalent in many languages. That is why practice has to be out loud. Our guide to French liaison and nasal vowels explains the two habits that make spoken French sound French.
What stays English-only
These WitSpeak modes are built only for English and do not run in French: IELTS-style speaking practice, Rapid Fire, Flow and audiobooks, shadowing videos, the phoneme coach and WitSpeak Kidz.
See every language WitSpeak teaches on the languages page. Spanish is fully available: Spanish speaking practice. German is in Early Access too: German speaking practice.
